Another astonishing quarter closed out 2014. Sellers felt like the Bachelor at the rose ceremony with buyers fighting over limited inventory. Buyers were more likely to find themselves feeling like The Biggest Loser vying against each other for any advantage. For well-priced homes in most Marin communities there were multiple offers and sales were at or over asking.
Great Expectations abound for 2015. Interest rates continue to be historically low while some Sellers may be preparing to heed the siren call to put their homes on the constricted market. Spring should bring a shower of new inventory but the story remains to be written as to whether sale prices continue their heady climb or start to level out.
